Tips for pricing
- Watch the $9.99 line for print. Paperbacks and hardcovers priced at $9.98 or less earn 50% instead of 60%, so a small price rise can add more than it looks.
- Mind the eBook 70% band. Outside $2.99–$12.99 an eBook drops to 35%, which usually earns far less per sale.
- Big eBook files cost more to deliver. Image-heavy books can lose a noticeable share of the 70% royalty to delivery costs.
- Check before you publish. KDP’s own pricing page shows the final royalty for your exact file and trim, and rules can change.
